MUUchachitas is the photographic series that accompanies the dance-theater piece with the same name (a Cia. Dunatacà production).
During the piece’s creating process, a need to address this issue not only in a scenic way arises. This is how this photographic series is born, whose intention is to deal with the issues that appear on stage from another artistic approach. Two works that feed and influence each other.

MUUchachitas starts up from a group of women who feel the need to throw a war cry against what is socially established ‘by the fact of being a woman’. Women incarnated in cows, debating on gender issues that concern them closely.

Why environmental feminism? Why a woman-cow? We create the woman-cow parallelism from the overexploitation from both of them by society: farm structures Vs patriarchy ones.

A journey towards what still today is utopian, a journey through what hurts us, a dream of freedom. How does the cow-woman feel? A squeezed, omitted, submitted woman. A bunch of meat.

What is their dream, their utopia?
